Surprisingly Affordable and Delicious Thai Food at S.R. Thai Cuisine Restaurant

Pad Thai, Php120…dubbed as the national dish of Thailand so you definitely MUST TRY this for an authentic Thai experience
Tom Yam, Php120…this is like our Sinigang but spiced with lemon grass

S.R. Thai Cuisine, bakit ngayon ka lang dumating sa buhay ko? I should be blaming my younger sister…this hidden gustatory gem is in the same street as the dormitory she has been staying at for the past four years now. How could she not have introduced this place to me??? Or at least brought home a take-out??? Tsk tsk. In any case, I am just so happy I got to know about this place and of course eat here 😁. YUMMMMMMYYY!!! And AFFORDABLE!!!

Thai Iced Coffee, Php50…sooooo goooood! =D
Seafood Fried Rice, Php115…this is my younger sister’s favorite

I fell in love with Thai food when my husband and I went to Thailand last 2014. Check out our food trips in Bangkok and at the Amphawa Floating Market below:

A Most Memorable Food Trip in Bangkok (Thailand)

A MUST FOODIE DESTINATION: Thailand’s Amphawa Floating Market

Condiments (soy sauce, vinegar, chili flakes, chili sauce)…love love love <3

Before the abovementioned trip, I have tried Thai cuisine once or twice here in the Philippines but never really cared for it. It was delicious as I can remember but I wrote it off because it was pricey. That ‘judgment’ stuck with me until I went to Thailand and found out how affordable their food is there (this is not true for other countries). In my mind though, I knew that I could no longer enjoy Thai food as much as I would want to back here. I was just looking forward to go back to Thailand some day just so I can do just that (eat lots and lots!) but now I can do so right here without hurting my budget. S.R. Thai Cuisine is a wonderful delicious discovery =D! This is a place I can return to again and again to satisfy my Thai food cravings.

Bagoong Rice (with green mango and cucumber strips), Php115…the blending of flavors in this dish never gets old for me
Don’t be fooled by the carinderia feel. The food is amazing and the place is air-conditioned and clean.

This hole-in-the-wall Thai restaurant owned by no less than a Thai couple has been in business since the 1990s and it has had its fair share of glory with many national newspaper features back in the day. However, it has been a little off the radar in recent years (they don’t even have an official Facebook page yet) much to the disadvantage of foodies like me and you in this generation. Fortunately, we can improve on that. For one, I am now sharing about this hidden classic here and I hope I have encouraged you to try it out (please do, you’ll surely enjoy it too!). Plus, you can of course share this post to all your friends and family.

Thai Iced Tea, Php45…You MUST TRY this!
