I am very much aware that an oven is not a staple Filipino kitchen appliance, but who says you can only ‘bake’ cakes, cookies, breads or cheesecakes with expensive ovens??? If you have a stove,  an oven toaster or rice cooker, you are well on your way to becoming a No Bake Baking Diva! I believe that we Filipinos have so much to give in the baking world. Our sheer love for delicious and indulgent food is enough motivation and advantage. On top of that, our culture, history and natural resources are just so rich. Like for example, it was just yesterday that I thought of making the abundant produce of our duhat tree into jam and it was a gustatory revelation! I can imagine it atop a cheesecake, a pie or cake filling or an ice cream flavor. Why not, right? I believe many of you have a duhat tree or two just outside your homes. What’s stoping you from creating deliciousness out of the fruit?Duhat JamThe world has been missing a lot because we have not really dipped our creative fingers into this field. No, I’m not pertaining to the elite few who are able to train abroad to become pastry chefs or patissiers. I am speaking to you dear home maker, I included. It is in our hands to place the Philippines in the baking map. We can make a significant impact in the baking world if we can only overcome our self-imposed limitation of not having an oven. With that, allow me to share with you nine no bake recipes I have gathered on the web, to jumpstart my No Bake ‘Baking’ series in this blog. These recipes will showcase nine different no bake ‘baking’ techniques, by which you can start creating beloved confections at home. Please do keep me posted on your ensuing kitchen adventure. ‘Bake’ away! ^_^
